Hermes: The Epitome of Luxury and Style

Hey Loves,

So, anyone who knows me, knows about my obsession with Hermes and all of their accessories. I remember that iconic scene in SATC where Samantha was trying to get a Birkin and there was a waiting list for it and when Samantha questioned why and that it’s just a bag, the associate retorted back, “It’s not just a bag, it’s a BIRKIN!!!” I have always loved their bags, silk scarves, notebooks, homeware, ready to wear and one of my favorites, they’re shoessss! So this year for Mother’s Day, I decided to treat myself to my first purchase at Hermes and get the Hermes Oran sandals in Gold. As with purchasing from Hermes, you can’t just buy one thing so I splurged on an Ulysse MM Notebook cover in the color Noir and Ulysse MM plain notebook refill as well.

Oran Obsession

Every fashionista knows how hard it is to find pieces in your wardrobe that will stand the test of time and still make an impact, but the Orans do just that! They have a classic style and some of the more comfortable pair of sandals in the market. They come in a wide range of colors and finishes and I already want to purchase them in the Noir, Vert Electrique, the 75-Rose Magenta, among many other different styles and colors.

A couple of things to note, The Orans tend to run a little more on the smaller side so when purchasing, go a size up for a comfortable fit. It is better to go into the store to purchase because you can start building a relationship with your Sales Associate and they will update you on any items on your wishlist. Also, Hermes have price increases so something to be mindful of when thinking about purchasing. As with most designer items especially cult favorites, it can be hard to track down, so when you see something you like, you have to act quick!

Intentional Fashion Investments

In the past couple of years, I have started to shift to being more intentional with my purchases and investing in quality pieces. I will sometimes break that rule for special pieces that spark joy, but mostly opt for investment pieces that will be in my wardrobe for years to come. I have done the whole buying dupes and it ends up being uncomfortable or breaks down on you and over time you find yourself having to spend more money replacing it. Other times, it may sit in your closet for years and take up space without you ever wearing it which is more of a financial loss than investing in the original piece. I understand that certain circumstances might make it more difficult to purchase luxury items, but maybe you invest in one piece and slowly build your collection.

Whatever it is that you choose to do, I hope you keep me posted on some of the items on your wishlist and some of your favorites from this post!

Lots of Love,

Sahar

A Revolution: Elevate Your Daily Routine for a Chic and Vibrant Life

Hey Loves,

June is such a beautiful month because it’s the halfway mark and gives you a good marking point to reevaluate how your year is going. Thankfully 2023 has been a year of transformation personally, but as someone who loves spontaneity and adventure, having too much of a routine can be a little stifling. Don’t get me wrong some structure is good and I do love pockets of routine, but other than that I like my day to be different otherwise I get restless. So, when my routine started getting a little stale, I knew it was time for a change up.

New Hair, New You

First, sometimes when people crave a change, the haircut is the first to happen. I didn’t go crazy with it, but I did drop some of that dead weight with a little snip and cut. Also, I started taking better care of it, more oiling and using better products. I used the Fable and Mane rosemary hair oil and incorporated more Kerastase, Briogeo and Olaplex products. I also recently got the Dyson Airwrap and that’s been so nice trying out different styles.

Setting yourself up for Success

Secondly, the morning routine has been amazing and something I look forward to. Starting to journal more consistently has been so helpful to me because jotting everything down from my plans to things I am grateful for helps curb my anxiety and stress. I have also been working out 4-5 days a week and going to the gym. As someone who signed up for a gym membership in early 2022, it feels good to finally go to the gym and put in that undivided time. I am gaining more confidence in the machines and between that and starting Pilates, I am excited to see how much of an impact it is going to have on me physically and mentally.

Romanticize Your Life

Finally, trying new things! It could be as simple as trying a new nail color, taking a different route, saying yes to an event you normally would have said no to and having fun to signing up for a new class, making a life change, or booking a trip. There are so many things you can do that’s new to you and that’s the fun part. This past week, I tried a new nail color, Lisbon wants a Moor and a new nail shape. It’s definitely a change for me because I have always been an OPI Big Apple Red girl so to have a pale pink color was a fun change. Also, I signed up for a class that I always wanted to try and planning for an upcoming trip, so many exciting things to come.

All in all, it’s amazing to have a routine and goals, but every once in a while it’s a beautiful thing to be able to bring some change and shake things up in your day. Granted that may look different for everyone and these were just some of the changes that I brought into my life this past week, but nevertheless June is an important month to implement some new changes and romanticize our lives.

The Iconic Tom Ford

Hey Loves,

So, one trend that seems to be popping up for Spring 2022 is the use of color! It’s everywhere! It isn’t the typical light pinks and pastel colors although those are also going to stay big for spring. No honeyyyy, we are talking about a full blown color explosion! Everything is pushed to its fullest and honestly I love it!

When you think about making a statement, Tom Ford has always been in the forefront. His iconic looks season after season set the trends on what it means to be a person with style and it’s no wonder that all the A-listers have his name on their lips! His Spring RTW 2022 collection made it clear as to why he is the legend that he is. His magnetism is unparalleled and the clothes draw you in. This season Tom Ford showed us that the “new normal” is going to have sequins, color and a look that says, “You can’t keep your eyes off of me!” Although, the items have a classic look, the colors and textures leave a lasting impact. Metallics, sequins, a flurry of vibrant pinks, orange, greens, blues, purples and golds make this collection unforgettable.

It’s a new age where the fashion rules are being redefined and people want to see a range of options. That is why you might see a ball gown with sneakers or athleisure in sequins. Everyone is trying to find out where they belong and after the year we all had, risks in fashion are fun. Take this time to find where you fit on that spectrum and don’t feel like you have to be boxed into just one type of style just because it’s what you have been used to. I know so many pieces that I saw in this collection are difficult for me to wear because of my modest approach to dressing, but looking beyond that I feel the vibe and the way that the fabric moves and the different textures and that feeling is the inspiration I use when experimenting with my own style!

I have linked so many pieces that I found to be fun and some of my own personal favorites! Let me know what were some pieces that stood out to you and how are you going to implement color this upcoming Spring!

Christian Siriano Bringing That Italian Flair?

Hey Loves,

New York Fashion Week has officially began in NYC and the city is buzzing! Everyone is ready to have everything go back to normal and the fashion choices do not disappoint. I think everyone is at that point where as comfy as athleisure is, we just want to go back to wearing items that spark joy and Fashion week is such an amazing time to bring out your best fashion pieces and have fun.

One of the designers that I was really interested in was Christian Siriano. Most of his dresses end up on the red carpet and I love the way his clothes emphasize a woman’s body. One thing I enjoyed about his show was how much diversity was incorporated! He showed a range of different ethnicities, races and sizes. The deconstructed feel of the suits to the colors ranging from a canary golden yellow to this metallic green are definitely going to be showing up in Spring and there was something about the way he used white and black, that was modern and had an elegant feel. That being said, I do feel that some of his past collections were a little bit better in the sense that almost each piece would just be jaw dropping. This collection didn’t seem to have that same feel, but there were some pieces that were beautiful and so I wanted to share them.

It’s an interesting time in fashion because of the lack of certainty. As a designer, you have to make that decision are you going to be looking to the past for inspiration or are you deconstructing the future and creating something that has never been seen before. I can’t wait to see what other trends are popular for Spring 2022 and how other designers are treating our “new normal.” I’ve included the full slideshow from Vogue and I’m curious to read your comments on what your favorite pieces are and how you would style it!

Lots of Love,

Sahar

The World Around Us

Hey Loves,

I know I haven’t been as active on my blog, but that’s only because I want it to be perfect for you guys and it is a lot quicker to post on social media. Also, lately there seems to be so much sadness and chaos in the world and that has made it harder to come on here and talk about the exciting things going on in my life. It also feels somewhat trivial to talk about what the new item in my closet is or what I am liking at the moment when people are suffering. I am torn and although, humanitarian issues are very important to me and they will always be a part of my blog, I also want my blog to be a little bit of an escape. I know people look at my blog from all over the world and so if you truly want to see where I stand on issues that are affecting us today, you can check out my Instagram stories, but for the meantime my blog might be discussing more lifestyle content than politics. Please feel free to let me know what you guys think. Do you want lifestyle content and that escape or would you want a mix of current events and lifestyle? Sending you all virtual hugs. Thank you for your continued support and I can’t wait to continue sharing.

Lots of Love,

Here We Go…

Hey everyone, I am sure you guys are tired of hearing about resolutions but it’s that time of year where everyone starts talking about their resolutions and what they are looking to accomplish for the upcoming year. Every year I would makes these elaborate goals and very strict resolutions and then I would feel defeated 2 weeks in because I would get this burst of motivation in the beginning and then run out of steam as the weeks progress. It’s the same thing like when you see everyone in the gym in January and then by February only a few remain.

What I did differently this year was that I realized that it wasn’t so much the goals itself, but I needed to focus on the systems. The systems that I need to put in place that will put me in a position for success. Once I focused on that, it has made it easier to accomplish goals that I have set up for myself. I’ve been listening to this audiobook on Audible by Kevin Hart called The Decision and it’s so good!!! First of all he’s extremely entertaining to listen to and the information he shares is very easy and digestible. I’ve been listening to it for the past couple of days and I can’t even begin to tell you how much I have enjoyed it! It talks about decision making and the things that affect it and how you can overcome them!

Listening to it made me realize all the excuses I make to myself on a daily basis. Some of it is subconscious and others are bad habits and limitations that I am putting up. Once I realized that, I began to be more intentional with my decision making and not just have resolutions but actual changes that I can make every day. Even if it’s just one step towards the positive change and I just focus on that, then I’m going in the right direction. I am going to be writing some more posts elaborating on the changes that I am making that helps me so maybe in turn we can hold each other accountable. I know 2020 was a difficult year for most in one way or the other and many people are still dealing with those ramifications. I pray that everyone has a positive, healthy and fulfilling year and may we all make the changes that get us closer to living a life that we envision for ourselves!

Lots of Love,

Sahar

Things Take Time

So, is there ever a time where it seems like bad things are happening constantly and it feels like you can’t catch a break? If you have experienced this then you can relate to this because girlllll we going through it!! Lately, there were a couple of really hard situations that my family and I had to face and it just kept hitting back to back. Experiencing these incidents really made me even more thankful to be alive and practicing gratitude has helped me be a little more capable of handling the ever changing circumstances.

I know I can only speak for myself and everyone handles unfortunate events in their life differently. For me practicing gratitude in a more intentional way really helped me cope. Making an active focus on all the blessings I have despite the hardships, gave me a fresh perspective on how to deal with my anxiety and emotions. Everyone is going through something so by no means am I saying that I am focusing on all the good things in my life and I am 100 percent okay, but what I am saying is understanding that I am allowed to grieve and still feel grateful and appreciative for the blessings and people that I do have in my life, helps me take it day by day and eventually get to a place of peace. I am open to how you guys cope through different situations. Sending virtual hugs to all of you!

Lots of Love,

Quarantine Diaries

This is such a strange time to be living in. I never thought that we would be going through something like this but I am trying to make the most of it. I’ve been self-isolating for over two months. That kind of overlapped with my maternity leave so I’ve just been home since that day. I have a newborn so I’ve been anxious about stepping outside or having someone come over and accidentally passing it on to him.

While I have been at home though I have decided to make some changes to help me with postpartum and mental health and also to set me up for a productive year regardless the outcomes. I’m so fortunate that no one I know personally has been affected too badly by this virus, health wise and my prayers go out to those who have been affected on a deeper level.

I don’t know about you guys but at this time, spending so much time at home really has put things into perspective for me. It really shows you the things you take for granted and challenges your value system. I have been challenging myself not to put things off for another day. I also have been doing more cooking and being more experimental with that and it’s actually pretty fun. I have been listening to more books on Audible. I have also been organizing more and setting myself up for a productive headspace. I want to set up habits and allow myself to create routines so that there’s better time management once the quarantine is over. Lastly, I have been spending quality time with my husband and new baby and enjoying motherhood. I know it’s somewhat early to say that and I’m sure there are battles ahead but I love our little family and I can’t imagine what life was like without them. Family is so important to me and in this time even more. Calling up loved ones and spending time with my family is something that I’m just enjoying so much.

So how are you guys doing? What routines or things are you guys doing to keep you sane during this time? I hope everyone is doing well during this time!

Lots of Love,

Sahar

Marianna Hewitt x DL1961

Okay so I don’t know why I never tried the DL1961 collab with Marianna Hewitt. I have so many pairs of denim from DL1961 and they’re one of my favorite brands as far as jeans go and for anyone who doesn’t know, Marianna is a lifestyle blogger/ businesswoman and one of the founders of Summer Friday’s. She did a collab with DL1961 but I’m honestly not going to lie, I thought maybe it wasn’t going to be worth the hype, but trust me when I say I recently tried the Farrow Instasculpt and I’m in love. That’s saying a lot right now in my postpartum state. A lot of my jeans are fitting me differently and these jeans fit so well! Super comfortable dark wash which is always my comfort zone and I ended being able to get them on sale which was an added bonus! She has many other items in the collab, but these pairs of jeans were the first thing I ordered so I had to share with you guys! Let me know what are some of your favorite brands to shop for when you buy jeans.

Lots of Love,
