The Iconic Tom Ford

Hey Loves,

So, one trend that seems to be popping up for Spring 2022 is the use of color! It’s everywhere! It isn’t the typical light pinks and pastel colors although those are also going to stay big for spring. No honeyyyy, we are talking about a full blown color explosion! Everything is pushed to its fullest and honestly I love it!

When you think about making a statement, Tom Ford has always been in the forefront. His iconic looks season after season set the trends on what it means to be a person with style and it’s no wonder that all the A-listers have his name on their lips! His Spring RTW 2022 collection made it clear as to why he is the legend that he is. His magnetism is unparalleled and the clothes draw you in. This season Tom Ford showed us that the “new normal” is going to have sequins, color and a look that says, “You can’t keep your eyes off of me!” Although, the items have a classic look, the colors and textures leave a lasting impact. Metallics, sequins, a flurry of vibrant pinks, orange, greens, blues, purples and golds make this collection unforgettable.

It’s a new age where the fashion rules are being redefined and people want to see a range of options. That is why you might see a ball gown with sneakers or athleisure in sequins. Everyone is trying to find out where they belong and after the year we all had, risks in fashion are fun. Take this time to find where you fit on that spectrum and don’t feel like you have to be boxed into just one type of style just because it’s what you have been used to. I know so many pieces that I saw in this collection are difficult for me to wear because of my modest approach to dressing, but looking beyond that I feel the vibe and the way that the fabric moves and the different textures and that feeling is the inspiration I use when experimenting with my own style!

I have linked so many pieces that I found to be fun and some of my own personal favorites! Let me know what were some pieces that stood out to you and how are you going to implement color this upcoming Spring!

Lots of Love,

The World Around Us

Hey Loves,

I know I haven’t been as active on my blog, but that’s only because I want it to be perfect for you guys and it is a lot quicker to post on social media. Also, lately there seems to be so much sadness and chaos in the world and that has made it harder to come on here and talk about the exciting things going on in my life. It also feels somewhat trivial to talk about what the new item in my closet is or what I am liking at the moment when people are suffering. I am torn and although, humanitarian issues are very important to me and they will always be a part of my blog, I also want my blog to be a little bit of an escape. I know people look at my blog from all over the world and so if you truly want to see where I stand on issues that are affecting us today, you can check out my Instagram stories, but for the meantime my blog might be discussing more lifestyle content than politics. Please feel free to let me know what you guys think. Do you want lifestyle content and that escape or would you want a mix of current events and lifestyle? Sending you all virtual hugs. Thank you for your continued support and I can’t wait to continue sharing.

Lots of Love,

Things Take Time

So, is there ever a time where it seems like bad things are happening constantly and it feels like you can’t catch a break? If you have experienced this then you can relate to this because girlllll we going through it!! Lately, there were a couple of really hard situations that my family and I had to face and it just kept hitting back to back. Experiencing these incidents really made me even more thankful to be alive and practicing gratitude has helped me be a little more capable of handling the ever changing circumstances.

I know I can only speak for myself and everyone handles unfortunate events in their life differently. For me practicing gratitude in a more intentional way really helped me cope. Making an active focus on all the blessings I have despite the hardships, gave me a fresh perspective on how to deal with my anxiety and emotions. Everyone is going through something so by no means am I saying that I am focusing on all the good things in my life and I am 100 percent okay, but what I am saying is understanding that I am allowed to grieve and still feel grateful and appreciative for the blessings and people that I do have in my life, helps me take it day by day and eventually get to a place of peace. I am open to how you guys cope through different situations. Sending virtual hugs to all of you!

Lots of Love,

A lot has Changed

Hey Loves,

The last time I posted, I was talking about my new years resolutions and preparing for a baby. Well, the baby is here and currently 3 months old! If you are one of those people where having a baby doesn’t disrupt your life at all, I commend you because any ideas I had of having some type of schedule and being more productive have gone out the window. I am a first time mom and although the changes in my schedule are so welcome because I have never experienced a love like this, it was literally survival of the fittest in our household in the beginning. As soon as Baby Yaqoub would fall asleep, there was a mad dash to get either sleep or food. I know I’m being a little dramatic but it really did feel like that at times. We were just trying to keep up and then on top of all that I had some complications after pregnancy so I was dealing with that as well. Then when we finally thought we were getting the hang of it, Coronavirus landed in NYC and we went into self isolating. All in all, it’s really strange to be a first time mom in this situation, but now I feel that I am slowly finding my rhythm and we (the baby and I) are slowly understanding each other. Lately, I have been trying to create some type of schedule especially with quarantine happening and not being able to do much, some of the days started to blend together. I have been using some new apps to hold myself accountable and also learning some new things on a couple of online courses Coursera. I am also back on trying to find my rhythm with blogging so be on the lookout for a lot more content coming your way. I feel so grateful to be able to even have an opportunity to be doing these things where I know so many people are really struggling. How have you guys been spending your time during this crazy time?

Lots of Love,

A Year in Review

I can’t believe its been over a year since I last posted on my blog so a recap is definitely in order. This past year has been amazing and full of monumental moments. For starters, I started last year with family and hosted a big pre-New Years Eve party. It was my first time hosting people in a formal capacity at my home and it was a lot of fun! In February, I celebrated my first wedding anniversary and spent time with my husband. We went upstate and had an amazing dinner and spent the whole weekend with each other. It was so nice to get away and have a moment just us two. March was another big moment for me because I turned 30 years old. I’m not someone who really feels strange getting older so it wasn’t a feeling of dread but it definitely felt different and I was happy to be embarking on this new era in my life. My 20’s were interesting to say the least, full of loss and confusion and figuring out who I was and not really being focused or driven and a little lost. Towards the end of my 20’s is when I started to get more serious and started to become more confident in who I was and what I wanted and I feel that now in my 30’s, I am becoming more and more comfortable with who I am. Of course, I understand new experiences and challenges shape you and there’s always room for growth, but I think for the first time in my life, I am starting to love the person I am becoming as sappy as that sounds. Also in March, I went to visit Turkey for the first time which was definitely on my bucket list. I have always wanted to go and it was such an amazing experience and a place that I can’t wait to visit again! We stayed in Istanbul and Antalya and because of a delay in our planes, we also ended up staying in Germany as well. So, it was kind of like having two trips in one! In June, my husband and I found out that I was pregnant!! It is such a big decision that although we were ecstatic, I think I was still in denial. I was so anxious because we found out pretty early so I didn’t want to get too excited because I was nervous just in case something happened. I know that’s really silly but pregnancy is such a sore subject for so many women and I was really nervous especially because I had a pretty rough pregnancy in the first couple of months. I did start to get more and more excited when we started telling people and found out the gender and with each sonogram, seeing him grow! It’s such a beautiful thing to experience as crazy and round as I look..Lol. In September, I ended up going on an overnight trip to Philly with my sisters. It was just the four of us and it was nice to get away and spend time. We are super close, but we had been so busy in our own lives that it was nice to spend that quality time with each other. The rest of the year, we spent time with family and getting everything ready for the baby. I can do another post on the baby essentials that we received and purchased if you would like. That was my year and although I didn’t have too many wins in the career side of my life, my personal life definitely saw a lot of changes. What are some things you guys experienced in the last year? Feel free to comment below!!

Lots of Love,

Sahar

A Fresh Start

Hey everyone!! I’ve missed you guys! It has been so long since my last post so let me use this time to catch everyone up.

  1. I got married guys! My wedding was on February 17, 2018. It was so hectic leading up to it! I personally haven’t been to the that many weddings in my life and I am the first to get married in my own family, so I didn’t have any experience when it came to planning a wedding. Luckily, I had my friends and family along with my wonderful husband to help me get through it. If you guys are interested, I can definitely do a post on my experience and any tips and tricks that I learned along the way.
  2. So while I was planning this wedding, I was like planning a wedding isn’t enough I need to add another level of crazy to everything! So the hunt for an apartment began. If anyone has moved before or is in the process of moving then I am sure you can relate to what I have to say next. Did you guys ever think like, oh, I don’t really have that much stuff and then when you started packing you realize that it’s just boxes over boxes over boxes? I thought that I didn’t have that much stuff, but then the boxes kept filling up! Luckily, my parent’s place wasn’t too far from where our new place is so we got everything done fairly quickly. On the plus side, one of my favorite parts of moving into a new place is a fresh start and home decor, which is one of my passions! Pinterest has been such an amazing source of inspiration for me! Ps check out my Pinterest if you guys want any inspiration as well. I will definitely keep you guys posted on the apartment and any new pieces we add.
  3. Finally, on March 3rd, it was my birthday! I can’t believe it the big 29! A birthday is such an amazing time to reflect and 28 was such a year full of big changes between the wedding and work and a new home. I have been blessed and I am really grateful for all the experiences and people who have been a part of my life. I can’t wait to see what 29 will bring!

These were just some of the changes that happened in the last couple of months. I hope to be sharing more with you in the upcoming months. Thank you for your patience and understanding and I definitely have some more posts coming up for you! Let me know in the comments your thoughts and questions!

Lots of Love,

Sahar
